We offer workshops and consultations on whole site design, & sustainable living in the desert, which includes building with natural materials, as well as water harvesting, desert gardens, land restoration & more. We host workshops and training in most seasons here, and we provide general information and links to valuable resources, and materials for natural building, as well as printed and video resources. Our site is one of those used to host a day in the Permaculture Design Course here in Tucson, Arizona, taught by Sonoran Permaculture Guild members, as well as other Permaculture Design Courses in the region. We have proudly hosted events for school and college groups, international groups and individuals, seeking to live more lightly on the land. Classes & special projects are ongoing, demonstrating desert water harvesting and gardening techniques, natural materials such as paints & plasters made from plant dies, natural clays & pigments, recycled building materials and other resources for building beautiful, creative, natural, low-cost extensions of the Earth. One of the things we have found is that it is a great way to learn about history and ancient techniques with materials that exist almost anywhere. Since some of these techniques are being lost over generations, it's really rewarding to be able to bring these ideas back to life. WOOFERs and others interested in living sustainably are welcome to come and stay in the little straw bale casitas, as a quiet retreat space or as part of a work exchange/internship program that is ongoing here in the Sonoran desert. Email us for schedules and opportunities. Many thanks for your interest and support. |

Permaculture
Across Borders came about as a result
of conversations at Permaculture Design
Certificate courses in the USA and Australia.
A
foundation was envisioned that would
build upon local knowledge by supporting
community-based education sites, and
that would also connect communities,
cities and regions to each other.
Today our Board and Advisory Board members live and work across the world, from Australia to Tajikistan; from Armenia to Jordan and in every region of the United States. Their connections are PAB’s greatest resource. After assembling an initial team of teachers, designers, and consultants from across the globe, Permaculture Across Borders incorporated as a Not for Profit in the state of California, USA, during August of 2006. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
